WHY ROTARY?
More than a meeting.
A way to make a difference.
Our club brings people together to serve others, build friendships, and put good ideas into action. Whether you want to give back, meet people, or help young leaders grow, Rotary gives you a place to start.
Build real connections
Get to know people from different professions and walks of life through meetings, community events, and shared service. Working toward a common goal creates opportunities for friendship, new perspectives, and lasting connections.
Help the next generation
Help local students build a foundation for their future. Our scholarship support, RYLA sponsorships, and dictionary distribution connect education and leadership with the encouragement of a community that believes in them.
SERVICE IN ACTION
Small acts. Lasting impact.
Our club turns fundraising, volunteer time, and community partnerships into support for local students, families, and organizations. These are the programs and causes our members help make possible.
SCHOLARSHIPS
Opening doors
for local students.
We support scholarships for local high school students through the Robert “Rob” Smith Memorial Scholarship at Hinds Community College. This investment in education helps students take their next step after high school and honors Rob’s memory through opportunities for the next generation.
Education & opportunity
Growing tomorrow’s leaders
We sponsor students to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) conference. By supporting their participation, our club encourages young people to explore leadership, connect with their peers, and see the role they can play in serving their communities.
A tool for every learner
We distribute dictionaries to third-grade students in Rankin County elementary schools. A dictionary gives a young learner a resource for exploring words, building vocabulary, and developing confidence in reading and writing. It is a simple gift with a lasting place in a student’s education.
Helping young adults move forward
We support Baptist Children’s Village Independent Living Homes in Rankin County. Our club’s involvement reflects a commitment to young adults as they work toward independence and take on the responsibilities of adulthood. Supporting this program is one way we help young people move forward.
Supporting safety and prevention
We provide assistance to The Center for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Trafficking. Through our support, we stand behind work focused on safety and prevention, recognizing the importance of community organizations that address these difficult issues.
Showing up for our neighbors
We contribute to local food banks to help support neighbors facing food insecurity. We also recognize and provide aid for veterans, military personnel, law enforcement, and first responders. These efforts reflect our appreciation for those who serve and our commitment to helping people close to home.
COMMUNITY, TOGETHER
Good times for a good cause.
